Spacious and comfortable, the Moulin Rouge Suite is named after the Moulin Rouge Beauty Shop that operated in the home’s parlor for 75 years. This lovely suite is our largest room for 1 or 2 couples. The Laven House is located just 3 blocks from Moulin Rouge House B&B in the downtown Lincoln Park Neighborhood of Mankato and is walking distance to restaurants, bars and the Convention Center. It is only 2.2 miles from MSU and 1.4 miles to Mayo. Stay comfortably in this charming and welcoming home.
The Laven House has 2 short-term rental units to choose from:
- Candy’s Attic, a spacious attic suite
- Douglas Rooms, two separate bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor
The first floor parlor is shared and you can inquire about renting the large movie theater in the basement that seats 10.
Each guest area has a coffee bar with Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast is not served at the Laven House, but you can add the gourmet Sunday Brunch served 3 blocks away at the Moulin Rouge House B&B on Sunday mornings at 9 AM.

Laven House | Candy's Attic
A private haven, enjoy this spacious attic suite with queen bed, large bathroom with claw foot bathtub, shower with dual showerheads, double vanity and scenic balcony overlooking the treetops. Relax in the morning with coffee or tea provided in your room and recline in the comfortable chairs in the sitting area. Air conditioning, WiFi and TV with cable are also included. *Must be able to climb stairs
Candy’s Attic is located in the attic and is spacious with over 500 sq ft.

The Douglas Rooms are located on the 2nd floor of the front of the home with 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom is located in the hallway outside of each bedroom and is for your private use.
